Cabo has a much safer feel than Cancun, it has a more relaxed atmosphere, it has really great restaurants and a lot of fun bars where you don't have to be inside or pay a cover fee to get in like many Cancún. For this category, Cancun ranks first. My best advice is probably this. San José del Cabo offers tourists that traditional Mexican feel of the old town that I don't think Cancun can offer and can be quite a romantic place to stroll around.
We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva in San Jose del Cabo and had a great stay at the all-inclusive resort, but if you want more options you can consider Cancun. Both Cancun and Cabo San Lucas receive a lot of tourists every year, which is a good indicator of their safety profile. Both Cancun and Cabo offer a wide range of things to do, but while in Cancun you'll find a good balance between cultural sites and natural wonders, in Cabo it's all about spectacular nature and outdoor activities. In this post, I will share with you my experience in two of the most famous tourist destinations in Mexico: Cancun and Cabo San Lucas.
